Felix Tan is the Executive Director of Polyglot Group and the Group's subsidiaries, responsible for Group strategy and strategic partnerships.
Felix has 20 years of experience in the insurance and investment industries in Europe and in Asia. He was previously the Chief Actuary of New China Life Insurance (NCL), one of the largest life insurance companies in Asia, where he was a member of NCL's senior management, and was a steering committee member of NCL's investment, financial planning and sales management committees.
Concurrently, at Zurich Insurance Group, he was a member of the regional management team, responsible for assessing potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships in the Life insurance industry in Asia. He has also held the role of Chief Representative (China) at SCOR Global Life, where he was responsible for market entry and expansion strategies in the Chinese Life reinsurance market.
Felix is currently also an Executive Director of ONEPIP (onepip.net; online money transfer), and has participated in the angel and seed investment rounds of various internet start-ups, including those in the B2B global trade (tradesparq.com), education industry (italki.com) and in the robotics industry (Hanson Robotics), etc.
Felix is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and Society of Actuaries (US). He was awarded a full scholarship from Zurich Insurance Group to complete the EMBA program at INSEAD, and graduated with a BA (Honours) in Mathematics from Durham University (UK).
Xue Wei, the General Manager of Shuoba! Chinese Centre and the legal representative of Shuoba! Tokyo and Tianjin branches. He is also the Co-Founder of Shuoba! who graduated from Harbin University of Science and Technology in 1997 and studied for a Masters degree in Human Resource Management from 2000-2001. He loves marathon running, and completes at least 10 marathons in China or abroad every year! Xue used to work for the HR department of Hitachi (China) and started to do his own business from 2002 providing overseas student services, apartment rental services for foreigners in Beijing and Chinese training.
Li Fei (Coco), the headmaster of Shuoba! Chinese Centre. Coco graduated from Beijing Union University majoring in Tourism Management. She has been teaching Chinese as a foreign language since 2008. Coco joined Shuoba! Chinese Centre in 2014, she focused on teaching, researching and developing, engaged in educational administration and other management work, as a result has a deeper understanding of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
Coco is a Beijinger. She has a deep love for the city which is not only rich in its cultural history, but also in its increasingly modern style. She hopes everyone can achieve their dreams by learning Chinese.
Zhang Xiaofeng, teacher and administrator of Shuoba! Chinese Centre who graduated from Dalian Foreign Language University and majored in Japanese language. She has been providing services to Japanese who lives in China after graduation. Since Xiaofeng joined Shuoba! in 2014, she has become familiar with the pronunciation and language features of Japanese students. She believes that pronunciation is very important to learn a new language and she hopes to help more and more people to improve their Chinese.
You Junpeng joined Shuoba! Chinese Centre in 2015 as a Japan Customer Service Officer. She started learning Japanese in 2008 and graduated from Japan’s Mejiro University majoring in International Communication. She is also in charge of overseas student services, dealing with application formalities, organizing students after-class interaction, and solving students’ daily problems. Through this, Junpeng experienced the joy of mixing with different cultures. She hopes Shuoba! students can find the pleasure of exploring Chinese culture.
Fan Xiaoqian is from Hohhot Inner Mongolia, she has been teaching Chinese for 4 years, her students are from all over the world, from children to old people. She looks forward to seeing you at Shuoba!, and hopes you can get to know more about Chinese language and experience our local culture.
Yang Xiaohui has 9 years of foreign language teaching experience. Most of her students are the employees of Japanese companies, staff at the Japanese Embassy, their wives and children. As a teacher who has many years of foreign language teaching experience, she has been adhering to the teaching philosophy that "there are no bad students, only bad teachers." Therefore, in the classroom, she is a professional teacher. The biggest feature of her teaching style is that she is extremely patient and meticulous, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility. For the good of her students, her requirements are strict, because she does not want to waste their money or time. After class, she is a genial, kind-hearted and enthusiastic girl who wants to make friends with more foreign people, so as to better understand foreign cultures. At the same time, she hopes she can be the bridge between China and the outside world, helping more and more foreign friends to fall in love with China.
Liang Yixuan, teacher at Shuoba! Chinese Centre. Liang graduated from Beijing Foreign Language University and began a career in teaching Chinese as a Second language since 2008. She used to teach online at EChineseLearning and MyChineseLearning, after which she taught at China-Inside. She teaches regular Chinese courses, Business Chinese, newspaper analysis, grammar and pronunciation practice and customized courses. In her teaching, she explores innovative teaching methods, teaches students in line with their aptitude which is very popular amongst the students.
